We’ve got jobs!!

Chez and I have secured ourselves jobs! We will be working at the Adelaide River Inn, in the Northern Territory. Chez will be behind the bar and I will be serving in the petrol station. Adelaide River is a small settlement about 100kms south of Darwin.

Charlie the Water Buffalo, who shot to fame in the film, Crocodile Dundee lives here… or rather did, until he died… but he lives on! Stuffed atop the bar!

Apparently the mobile phone coverage is lousy there, so we may not be able to recieve your txt messages, and alas, the internet coverage may also be poor, so we may only be able to check emails on our days off… maybe once a week.

We’re really looking forward to this, we leave Darwin for Adelaide River on Wednesday at 1pm, with our first rostered shifts on Thursday!

We’ll let you all know how we get on

Bye for Now

Hey there guys. Congrats on getting the jobs. Nik you are a monkey in a kiosk… actually given your latitude you’re more likely to be a koala, or some other breed of marsupial, or possibly monotreme, in a kiosk. Quite. I’m starting Uni in a week on the |Chemistry| Course. How exciting, but prior to that Ellen and I are off to Cornwall for a few days… hope my little car makes it. Drop me a line the next time you’re connected to the world, and good luck with the jobs. Oh, and what are you doing for living arrangements.

Dude, it’s been ages. I hope you and Chez are still having a wonderful time way out there in the middle of no-where. I expect you’ll get my birthday text next time you’re near a signal. Erm… I’ve started Chemistry, it’s good, but it’s not Medicine… I’m definitely going to have to see what I can do about getting back into that. Also, fell through a roof last week so my back’s a bit sore. Slightly embarassing, got a bit drunk and tried to jump over a car-porch, Apparently I just sort of stepped into the air and came thundering down on top of a palm-tree in the foyer. Still…paaaarrrrtyyyy! as they say. I am now notorious for all the wrong reasons. I guess that was mostly about me, but no-one knows what you’re up to, so try and wave your mobile in the air until you get back in touch with the world, or failing that, find a long pole.
